Fischer lifts Maine over Northeast, 6-3

Behind a great game by Noel Fischer, who had two goals, Maine defeated Northeast, 6-3.

Fischer scored on the power play at 13:25 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Maine and again while 15:13 into the third to make the score 5-3 Maine.

Northeast was unable to stop Maine from sending pucks towards the net, and Maine eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Maine surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Maine has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Maine took advantage of Northeast\’s penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities.

Northeast was led by Derric Trudeau, who had one goal and one assist. Trudeau scored 4:32 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Luke Whalen picked up the assist. Northeast additionally got points from Paul MacDonald, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Northeast also got a goal from Alex ODowd as well. More assists for Northeast came via Kyle Hoxie, Travis Hyde, and Kevin Perry, who contributed one each.
