Lopaev's hat trick helped the Generals crush the Stampede 5-1

Fedor Lopaev led the way with a hat trick as the Northeast Generals crushed the Oswego Stampede 5-1 in a home game at Anthony J. Crisafulli Rink in Northeast. Also, Lucas Souza came up big, stopping 33 of 34 shots throughout the game. The Northeast Generals took the lead late in the first on a goal from Fedor Lopaev and never looked back.

Alex O’dowd had a busy night with 2 assists and John Lockhead chipped in with 2 assists.

During the first period, Figueroa opened the scoring for the Generals with a goal at 6:53 with a helper from Lockhead. Wallace quickly followed with a goal at 8:02 with a helper from defenseman Zarragoitia. Lopaev answered for Northeast with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:13 with assists from his linemates, Faia and Lockhead.

During the second, Mackey scored a goal at 0:24 with an assist from his teammate O’dowd. Lopaev netted a goal at 5:08 with helpers from his linemates, O’dowd and Braley.

In the third period, Lopaev deposited a goal at 8:54 with helpers from Hamel and Bellew.

The Generals’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Souza’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced. Souza’s counterpart, White, also had a big night, managing to stop 32 of 37, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Northeast Generals’ record to (29-20-4-1).
