Marc Faia had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Northeast Generals crushed the Roc City Royals 9-3 in a home game at New England Sports Village in Northeast. In addition, the Northeast Generals' offense had a big night, peppering the Royals with 42 shots throughout the game. The Northeast Generals took the lead early in the second on a goal from Stephen Toal.
Stephen Toal did his part, adding 2 goals and Thad Marcola chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first, Phillips opened the scoring for Roc City with a goal at 5:44. Piela answered for the Generals with a goal at 9:08 with a helper from his teammate Gianetis. Candleana answered for the Royals with a goal at 12:28. Faia quickly followed with a goal at 12:43 with assists from his linemates, Braley and Marcola.
During the second, Marcola scored a goal at 1:37 with helpers from his linemates, Faia and Braley. Toal quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:25 with assists from his linemates, Shea and Figueroa. Lockhead quickly followed with a goal at 4:21 with helpers from Hamel and Lockhead. Toal scored a goal at 8:17 with assists from Whalen and Figueroa.
In the third, Seay answered for the Royals with a goal at 1:19 with helpers from Norris and Onufryk. Figueroa answered for the Generals with a goal at 14:54 with an assist from his linemate Faia. Braley quickly followed with a goal at 16:41 with helpers from Whalen and Faia. Gianetis put in a goal at 19:23 with an assist from Kelly.
Northeast’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Souza as he stopped 20 of the 23 shots he faced. Souza’s counterpart, Peters, also had a big night, managing to stop 17 of 22, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Northeast Generals’ record to (9-5-1-0).
