Hockey Staff


Bob Penfield is the Managing Director of the Northeast Generals and one of the three Co-Owners.  Bob oversees the Northeast Generals LLC and its financial details.


Darryl Locke will start his 4th year as the Northeast Generals Head Coach. Coach Locke has coached at every level of hockey from youth to juniors. Most recently, Coach Locke was the Varsity Assistant at Everett High School. Before that, he was a coach at Winchester High School. Coach Locke has coached in such prestigious organizations as The Advantage Ice (Lovell Hockey), NY Saints, Prince Edward Island Prospects (Canada), and South Shore Braves Jr. Team to name a few. Coach Locke brings a wealth of experience as a player has been a two-time Catholic League All-Star and three-time Hockey Night in Boston All-Star, while at Columbus High School. Coach Locke was captain of The New Preparatory School under coach George Kozak and Ned Bunyon. Coach Locke played junior hockey for The South Shore Braves and then moved onto SUNY-Plattsburgh.


Bryan Erikson is the  Assistant Coach and General Manager of the Northeast Generals and has over 18 years of coaching experience.

Coach Erikson has worked closely with his father at Hockey Plus!, one of the most successful and long-running (42 years and counting) hockey camps on the South Shore serving as the head of the camp for the last 15 years, overseeing and training all of the staff. While at Hockey Plus! Coach Erikson has coached over 2,200 youth hockey players on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Coach Erikson’s experiences include:

  • Head Coach – Wareham High School Varsity Hockey
  • Head Coach – Hockey Night in Boston
  • Head Coach – Bay State Games
  • Head Coach – Boston Junior Terriers U18 Tier 1, Bantam & Squirt levels
  • President – Coastal Stars Youth Hockey
  • President – Yankee Conference Hockey League, which oversees 100 teams in Massachusetts
  • President/Head Coach – South Shore Selects U19 tournament team
  • President – Mass Elite Hockey, 18 team Spring/Summer Hockey league for the Elite Hockey Player (Pee Wee – U18)

Bryan has also been a math teacher for over 10 years at public schools and the Dept. of youth services.
