Skylands\’ Cory Decosta scored 1:58 into overtime to beat Northeast, 4-3 (OT).
Decosta was all over the ice for Skylands, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Decosta scored the first of his two goals at 17:14 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Hunter Ledwith provided the assist. Decosta\’s next tally made the score 4-3 Skylands with 18:02 left in overtime. Ledwith picked up the assist.
Skylands managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Skylands finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Northeast was unable to stop Skylands from sending pucks towards the net, and Skylands eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.
