Jacob Kelly delivered for his team with 2 goals and Austin Braley contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Eddie Cannon had a productive game with 2 goals.
In the first period, Cannon opened the scoring for the Stampede with a goal at 9:45 with a helper from his linemate Gulick. Cannon put in a goal at 12:03 with an assist from his teammate Lamotte Stokes.
In the second, Kelly finally put Northeast on the board with a goal at 4:51 with a helper from defenseman Hamel. Mackey netted a goal at 10:31 with assists from his linemates, Braley and O’dowd. Kelly deposited a goal at 13:47 with helpers from Fuller and Lockhead.
In the third, Shea scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:29 with an assist from defenseman Hamel. Walker quickly followed with a goal at 5:21 with helpers from Berry and Watterson. Toal quickly followed with a goal at 6:50 with an assist from defenseman Whalen. Braley scored a goal at 13:00 with helpers from his linemates, Mackey and Faia.
Northeast’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Wagner’s big night as he stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced. Wagner’s counterpart, Kozikoski, also had a big night, managing to stop 43 of 49, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Northeast Generals’ record to (28-20-4-1).
